Gro Box Basil

Product Code: HP056928
Category Plants

Description

Growing basil from seeds is a rewarding and straightforward process that allows you to cultivate this aromatic herb at home.  To start fill the propagator with well-draining potting mix ensuring it's moist but not waterlogged.  Sprinkle basil seeds evenly on the surface and lightly press them into the soil.  Cover the tray with a plastic lid or wrap to create a humid environment.

Place the tray in a warm location with plenty of sunlight as basil thrives in full sun. Keep the soil consistently moist but be cautious not to overwater as basil prefers slightly drier conditions.  Germination typically occurs within 5-10 days.

Once the seedlings have developed their first set of true leaves transplant them into larger pots or directly into the garden spacing them about 6-12 inches apart.  Basil prefers well-drained soil with a slightly acidic to neutral pH.
