Foundation Physics - 'g' by Free Fall

Product Code: HP00054186
Category Motions & Forces

Description

Foundation Physics - 'g' by Free Fall Apparatus

  • The Foundation Physics range centres around the Universal Stand and includes accessories which allow a wide range of experiments to be conducted. Each add-on includes a comprehensive instructional guide with student tasks which are linked to the curriculum.

With the Foundation Physics g by Freefall Apparatus students can observe and measure the acceleration of a falling object. The unique drop and catch design when used with the Foundation Physics Universal Stand allows an object to fall directly through a pair of photogates. The exact value for gravity can then be calculated for your local geographic area.

The two included marbles have different masses so the experiment can be repeated multiple times to illustrate the universal effect of gravity.

Please Note: The Foundation Physics Universal Stand not included and will need to be purchased separately.

Pre Orders being taken for September launch.

  • Combine with the Universal Stand (available separately) to teach around and demonstrate Motion and Forces.
  • Suitable for staff and student use.
  • The Foundation Physics range centres around the Universal Stand and includes accessories which allow a wide range of experiments to be conducted. Each add-on includes a comprehensive instructional guide with student tasks which are linked to the curriculum.
  • Key Stage 4 Physics - Forces: Forces and fields: electrostatic magnetic gravity. Explain that weight is an effect of gravity which can vary with the gravitational field strength g (measured in N/kg) and recognise and predict phenomena that depend on weight and non inertial mass and distinguish between the two. Give examples of forces which act without contact across an empty space linking these to the gravity electric and magnetic fields involved. Estimating speeds and accelerations in everyday contexts.

Activities could include:

  • Effect of mass on Free Fall
  • Graphing Time and Distance in Free Fall
  • Measuring Acceleration of Gravity by Graphical Analysis of Free Fall.
  • Numerical Calculation of Acceleration of Gravity in Free Fall
